On behalf of our client, a major leader in the automotive industry, we are seeking a professional to support its Purchasing Department as part of an expansion plan.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the company’s procurement activities, coordinating purchasing operations in collaboration with the Purchase Manager. The goal is to optimize inventory levels, improve workflows, and reduce costs. The candidate will handle supplier negotiations, ensuring the proper execution of purchase operations in line with the company’s project-based logic. They will verify compliance with technical specifications as outlined in drawings, agree on delivery timelines and methods, and select suppliers based on obtained conditions and product quality analysis. The role requires market knowledge of raw materials and their cost implications.
The position is based in Parma , Italy.
The offer includes a full-time direct employment contract, with terms to be determined based on the candidate’s experience.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse total cost of ownership (TCO), timelines, and quality to meet company profitability objectives; review technical specifications and client drawings to identify required components.
- Negotiate prices and determine contractual terms based on supply timelines (short, medium, or long term).
- Participate in internal meetings, promptly flag critical issues, and propose alternative solutions to achieve TCO targets.
- Plan purchase orders to meet contractual goals; monitor the order portfolio and manage communications in case of delays.
- Scout and qualify suppliers to ensure the best quality/price ratio and alternative supply options.
- Implement cost-reduction programs and optimize the supply chain.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department and Purchase Manager to define supplier evaluation KPIs and resolve non-conformities or quality standard issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive or motorsport sectors. Candidates with a background in precision mechanics or companies manufacturing/importing machine tools will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of technical drawings and mechanical processes.
- Proficiency in English
